Super Computing
Supercomputers
Performance and Speed:
- Supercomputers are designed for exceptional performance and speed, typically measured in FLOPS (Floating-Point Operations Per Second). A FLOP represents a mathematical operation involving decimal numbers.
- To give you a sense of scale, a teraflop is a trillion (10^12) FLOPS, and modern supercomputers can achieve speeds in the range of petaflops (10^15) to exaflops (10^18).
